HOW TO STYLE A LEATHER SKIRT

share with a friend:

Leather skirts are an 80s classic trending right now, regardless of the length, and I’m here for it. I love long-length ones as they’re ideal for the current weather transitioning from winter to spring; on top of that, they look relaxed and effortless. From their durable fabric to their flexible fitting that can hug your body in all the right places without accentuating too much, what’s not to love about them?

I love the idea of styling a plain leather skirt with a knit during the colder days – also, tying a sweater around your shoulders is great for extra warmth + it will instantly elevate your outfit to what I call “old money.” For this look, I paired it with a silk shirt from Express. I love the neutral tones and the design, as it adds just the right amount of texture to the look without overwhelming it. Additionally, I added a lighter warm-toned knitted belt (from Italy) to add depth between the dark skirt and the soft-colored silk.

Finish off with classic pointed-toe heels (a staple in a gal’s closet) and a brown clutch for a nice touch.

For a casual look, you can switch the heels to loafers or flats and change the silk shirt for a cotton or polyester top.
